This Pine River is a tributary of the AuSable, flowing through the Huron National Forest in Iosco County before joining the AuSable near Oscoda. Brown trout and brook trout in the cold upper sections. Not the same as the Pine River near Cadillac (the canoe river) or Pine River in Midland County.

A smaller stream that benefits from the same cold, spring-fed character as the AuSable. Hendricksons in spring, BWOs through fall, and decent nymph fishing year-round. Less crowded than the main AuSable. A good side trip for anglers based in the Oscoda area.
