Tittabawassee River Michigan Trout Fishing Conditions
Brown Trout
Major Saginaw River tributary. Some brown trout in the cold upper sections near Sanford. Primarily a warmwater fishery in the lower reaches. The 2020 dam failure significantly altered the river.
The Tittabawassee River is a major tributary of the Saginaw River system, flowing through Midland County. The upper sections near Sanford hold some brown trout where cold tributary inputs maintain suitable temperatures. The 2020 dam failures significantly altered the landscape and hydrology.
Not primarily a trout stream, but the cold upper reaches provide fishable brown trout water in spring and fall. The Sanford gauge is useful for monitoring conditions on the upper Tittabawassee and its tributaries. A secondary option for central Michigan anglers.
